Welcome

The new Festa del Cactus website is delighted to welcome you in these last days of August, as we approach the opening of our 21st edition.

From behind the scenes, I can safely say that there will be nothing new — in the sense that, just as last year, the year before, and the year before that, this year’s event will once again occupy more space, with many new Italian and international exhibitors (thanks also to Piotr, who is coming from Poland!), joined by new content creators, artists and associations such as AIPC (…the carnivorous-plant people: how long we’ve been waiting for you!).

With a measured sense of responsibility, I also allow myself to hope that many more visitors will come, not least because it is now clear that this event is taking on the character of a REAL FESTIVAL: a place that puts being together first, where we can freely share our common passion for plants — whether cacti or aquatic plants, carnivorous plants or aroids: as long as they photosynthesise!

So let’s finally put aside the idea that this event is devoted only to succulents, because all plants are wonderful and people fascinated by them rarely recognise boundaries to their passion. Festa del Cactus has pursued this idea from the very beginning: a place of openness, friendship and sharing. A common good for everyone who wants to be part of it.

A place that becomes home for three days.

I would like to end by thanking our organising partner, CACTUS MANIA by Manera, for once again choosing to support us, and by announcing that the theme of this year’s edition will be CAUDEX, the surreal world of caudiciform plants. Exhibitors coming from all over Europe will be setting aside some of their most beautiful and rare specimens for the event.
