The 13th edition of Festa del Cactus features, for the first time, a number of experts exhibiting their growing experiences to the interested public. The Wild Grown Cactus and Succulent Plants group gathers under a gazebo where an exhibition of examples of natural arrangements is set up. Antonello, David, Letizia and other friends patiently explain all the steps of the noble art of natural cultivation. Elvia talks about Echeverias in the wild, presenting them with the support of a video projection of her travels in Mexico, while Francis illustrates the world of Ferocactus. Other interesting contributions include those of Matthew, who talks about his experiences as a Trichocereus hybridizer, and Max, who talks about Haworthia.

The many ‘technical’ interventions that the public benefits from arise around the desire to increasingly support the socialization of succulent plant enthusiasts.

‘Social Cactus’ is born

Social Cactus is a large area free of vendor gazebos, positioned in the center of the event. In fact, it is theAGORA, a meeting place and convivium for pilgrims who come from all over the world to visit Festa del Cactus

Beyond fecabook and instagram friendships, and far beyond the modern concept of ‘friendship,’ social cactus is the place where we can finally really meet. Here you can exchange plants, participate in a cultivation workshop, and listen to experts talk about their experiences in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Anyone who wants can join a cause, or become a member of one of the associations here.
