Gabriele sulle duneIattempted to grow plants since childhood, but I started with succulents only a few days after my 18th birthday. A few months later, the first sowings. After filling the balcony I was lucky enough to be housed in a real greenhouse, where it got out of hand as I got to over 1,800 species grown, almost all grown from seed.

Mainly I specialize in African succulents and bulbs, minorly in cacti. Every now and then I get distracted and start trying new things, ending up also growing orchids (geophytes in particular), carnivorous plants, tuberous araceae, native plants, and lately terrarium plants.

After many vicissitudes, setbacks and false starts, Maremmacactus Nursery was finally born in the summer of 2025.

The main purpose is to offer rare plants, whether of ornamental or botanical interest, by propagating them from seed and cuttings obtained from my mother plants. In time I hope to be able to produce specimens in sufficient quantity and quality to offer an alternative to the ex-habitat and plants of dubious origin that are often found on the market. In addition, in recent years I have also decided to use my skills for the benefit of local biodiversity, devising a program of research and propagation of native species for both urban or private green projects and renaturalization, focusing especially on Mediterranean scrub species and marsh plants.
